Books, luverly books….

Books. I love to read them and collect them. I thought it might be nice to pull a few from the teetering pile every now and then and talk about them a little…..

I think I may have mentioned my Alice in Wonderland obsession before and one day I will show you all the Alice books that I have collected. This is my most recent addition which is wonderfully illustrated by Camille Rose Garcia. I think she captures Lewis Carrol’s surreal story perfectly and I hope that Camille will illustrate Through the Looking Glass also.

The Quiet Book. This is one of those perfect little picture books that gave me butterflies in my stomach. It is so beautifully and simply written by Deborah Underwood and the illustrations by Renata Liwski are breathtakingly wonderful. A real keeper and one to go back to on a regular basis.

And finally, a book to help with those times when you feel stuck and uninspired. I think all of us as artists have times where we question our work, doubt what we are doing and worry about running out of ideas. The Confident Creative by Cat Bennett has lots of clever ideas for kick starting you back into creative mode and feeling excited about creating art for its own sake. I haven’t finished it yet, but have really enjoyed what I have read so far. A must have for your reference section.

I would love to hear what some of your favourite books are, or if you have any recommendations.
